Ode to Clarke

From
fountains of Paradise,
now,
the old man sit
watching,
our struggle
for a safe passageway
out of childhood.
Many worlds
has he spawn for us,
they seemed far fetch
and yet closer
to reality
that many would like.
He didn’t find
the evidence of
extraterrestrial beings,
and a world turning green
with cleaner energy resources
is a long way yet to go.
He had high hopes of peace
on his island of Sri Lanka,
but along with so many other places,
it’s still only a hope and a wish.
The grand old master of science fiction
has bought a ticket
on the spaceship Rama
a roundtrip for sure
and we will see him again
some time
